Lord Jagannath's Bahuda Yatra will be taken out in Puri, Odisha, today. After spending a week in the Gundicha temple, considered to be his birthplace, Lord Jagannath will return to the 12th-century temple today riding his chariots along with sister Subhadra and elder brother Balabhadra. With this, the Rath Yatra festival will conclude. Officials said that strict security arrangements have been made for the Bahuda Yatra.

It is worth noting that Lord Jagannath's Rath Yatra started on 27 June. Two days later, on 29 June, there was a stampede near the Gundia temple, in which three people died and about 50 people were injured. Keeping this stampede in mind, strict security arrangements have been made for the Bahuda Yatra.

6000 police and 800 CAPF personnel will be deployed
According to an official, 6,000 police and 800 Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel will be deployed in the temple town. So that it can be ensured that no incident like a stampede happens again. He said that due to favorable weather, a large number of people are expected to come, and special traffic arrangements have also been made.

275 CCTV cameras will keep an eye on the crowd and mischievous elements
The officer said that more than 275 CCTV cameras equipped with AI technology have been installed to keep an eye on the crowd and mischievous elements. DGP YB Khurania himself is present in the coastal city of Puri along with senior police officers, so that the Bahuda Yatra can be conducted in a safe and orderly manner. Khurania told reporters, 'We have taken all possible measures to conduct the festival smoothly.'

Pahandi of the deities will start at 12 noon.
According to the Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), the 'Pahandi' or procession of the deities will start at noon. Puri King Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb will perform the ceremonial cleaning of the chariots, known as Chhera-Pora, between 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm. Horses will then be attached to the chariots. The chariot pulling will begin at 4 pm. Earlier, thousands of devotees visited the deities at the Gundicha temple during the 'Sandhya Darshan' ritual on Friday evening.
