Bajaj Auto is gearing up to launch updated versions of two popular models from its Pulsar NS family—the Pulsar NS200 and Pulsar NS400Z. The updated motorcycles have reportedly started reaching dealerships ahead of their official launch, suggesting that the new models could be introduced soon.

The biggest update is expected to be a new 5-inch TFT instrument cluster, bringing a host of connected features to both motorcycles.

New 5-inch TFT display brings smart features

The most noticeable change will be the new 5-inch TFT instrument console.

The display is expected to offer Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity and can be paired with Bajaj's smartphone application. Riders will also be able to access Google Maps navigation information directly through the display.

One particularly useful feature for Android users is that navigation can reportedly continue to be accessed even when the phone's screen is switched off.

The TFT console will also provide access to features such as:

• Music controls

• Incoming call alerts

• Third-party app notifications

• Turn-by-turn navigation information

• Smartphone connectivity

This should make the two Pulsars considerably more feature-rich than their current versions.

Digital storage for important documents

Bajaj is also expected to add a digital document-storage feature to the new TFT system.

Riders will reportedly be able to store important documents such as their driving licence, insurance details and vehicle registration information digitally.

The switchgear has also been redesigned to make it easier to operate the new instrument cluster while riding.

Pulsar NS200 could receive hardware upgrades

The NS200 may get more than just a technology upgrade.

The updated motorcycle is expected to feature WP Apex USD front forks, which could give the streetfighter a more premium suspension setup.

There are also reports of possible changes to its tyres and braking hardware. However, these details have not yet been officially confirmed by Bajaj, so they should be treated as expected rather than confirmed features.

NS400Z likely to retain its existing engine

The Pulsar NS400Z, meanwhile, is not expected to receive major mechanical changes.

The motorcycle is likely to continue with its existing 349.13cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine.

The current engine produces:

• 40.6 bhp of power

• 33.2 Nm of torque

This means the main focus of the update is expected to be technology and rider convenience rather than a major change to the motorcycle's powertrain.

Bajaj Auto has not yet officially revealed the launch date or pricing for the updated NS200 and NS400Z.
