Bigg Boss Marathi contestant and social media personality Divya Shinde has been named in a police case following serious allegations of extortion and assault. A 65-year-old doctor has accused Shinde and several others of allegedly demanding ₹5 lakh from him and later entering his home and assaulting him.

A case has reportedly been registered at Kalepadal police station in Pune against eight to 10 people, including Divya Shinde and Anna Dhamdhere.

It is important to note that these are allegations made in the police complaint. The charges have not yet been established in court, and the matter is currently under investigation.

Doctor alleges repeated demands for ₹5 lakh

The complainant, Dr. Vidyadhar Gaikwad, is a former Chief Medical Officer of the Pune Cantonment Board. He retired from Pune Cantonment Hospital in 2021 and is associated with the Karunadeep Foundation.

According to his complaint, the foundation organized the Kala Avishkar Mahotsav at Balgandharva Rangmandir from September 1 to 3.

Dr. Gaikwad alleges that Divya Shinde had been contacting him through phone calls and messages since August and demanding ₹5 lakh, claiming that she was involved in promoting the event.

Family allegedly threatened at home

According to the complaint, on September 17, Divya Shinde, Anna Dhamdhere and several other people allegedly arrived at Dr. Gaikwad's residence.

The doctor was reportedly not at home at the time. He has alleged that the group attempted to pressure and threaten his wife and son.

The allegations escalated further a few days later.

Doctor alleges assault by a group

Dr. Gaikwad claims that on September 23, Anna Dhamdhere contacted him and asked him to meet at Hotel Blue Nine.

According to the complaint, another demand for ₹5 lakh was allegedly made during the conversation, along with a threat of physical assault if the money was not paid.

The following day, September 24, Dr. Gaikwad says he was alone at his residence at around 8:30 pm when Dhamdhere allegedly arrived.

The complaint alleges that when the door was opened, around eight to 10 people, including Divya Shinde, forcibly entered the house.

Dr. Gaikwad has alleged that he was punched and kicked and that objects including sticks, belts and other items were used during the alleged assault. He has also claimed that his home was damaged and that he was threatened with death.

Doctor admitted to hospital

The complaint further alleges that the group took away Dr. Gaikwad's car after he refused to pay the demanded amount.

Following the alleged assault, Dr. Gaikwad was admitted to Sassoon Hospital in Pune, where he is reportedly receiving treatment.

Kalepadal police have registered a case against eight to 10 individuals, including Divya Shinde and Anna Dhamdhere, under various provisions of law.

Police investigation underway

Assistant Police Inspector Amit Shete is reportedly investigating the case.

The allegations against Divya Shinde and the other accused are yet to be established through the investigation and any subsequent legal proceedings. The police investigation will determine what exactly happened and whether the allegations are supported by evidence.

For now, the case has put the Bigg Boss Marathi personality in the spotlight over a serious criminal complaint involving alleged extortion, assault, threats and property damage.
