Life certification is required for regular pension payments.
Life certification verifies that pensioners are alive. This makes it possible to provide regular pension benefits to eligible beneficiaries and to keep the distribution of government funds more transparent. The report states that Bihar's Social Welfare Minister, Dr. Shweta Gupta, has emphasized extending social security pension benefits to eligible citizens.

In the meantime, beneficiaries whose life certification is pending should not delay completing this process. Pending certification could impact pension disbursements; however, the information available so far does not conclude that all beneficiaries' pensions will automatically be discontinued. Therefore, beneficiaries should consult the relevant department for information on the official process and deadlines.
