Bihar Cabinet Meeting: Golden opportunity for government job in Bihar, about 5000 new posts approved

The Bihar government has created about five thousand new posts in seven departments including education and urban development. Protection officers will be appointed in all districts to protect women from domestic violence. Bihar State Bridge Management and Maintenance Policy 2025 has been approved. VAT rate on aviation fuel has been reduced to promote aircraft operations.

The government has approved a proposal to create about five thousand new posts for the Education Department, Urban Development and Housing Department along with seven other departments. What is important is that to protect women from domestic violence, the government has decided to appoint protection officers in all 38 districts of the state.
Along with this, for better implementation and monitoring of the Women Protection Act 2005, 362 i.e. total 390 protection officers will be appointed at the corporation headquarters, district subdivision level under the Women and Child Development Corporation under the Social Welfare Department. Their job will be to protect women from domestic violence.
This proposal was approved in the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. A total of 47 proposals were approved in today's meeting. Bihar State Bridge Management and Maintenance Policy 2025 was also approved in the meeting.
Recruitment will start soon for 4863 posts
After the cabinet meeting, Additional Chief Secretary of the Cabinet, Dr. S Siddharth said that out of the 4863 posts for which the proposal for creation has been approved in today's meeting, a total of 1503 new posts have been created, including 935 posts of Assistant Education Development Officer and 568 posts of Education Development Officer, under the Bihar Education Administration Cadre Rules-2025 alone.
818 posts of various categories have been created in the Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation and 63 posts have been created in the Bihar Education Project Council.
Two posts of Real Estate Officer and 38 posts of Assistant Real Estate Officer have been created on contract basis for 3 (three) years for verification of land of Government schools, educational institutions and offices, compilation and preservation of land details and to ensure timely availability of land for implementation of other developmental activities of the department. 390 posts of Conservation Officer have been created in the Social Welfare Department.
1350 posts created for seven planning area authorities
Apart from this, 1350 posts have been created for running the offices of seven planning area authorities (Bodh Gaya, Gaya, Rajgir, Bihar Sharif, Ara, Muzaffarpur and Saharsa) in the light of the provisions of the Urban Planning and Development Rules, 2014. Apart from this, approval has been given for creation of 653 posts for Bihar State Jeevika Nidhi Credit Cooperative Federation formed by Jeevika Group.
Approval was given for creation of 15 (fifteen) posts of stenographer under BPSC. For strengthening and expansion of Public Health Engineering Department, creation of five new branches and operation, approval has been given for creation of one post of Under Secretary of Bihar Secretariat Service, five posts of Branch Officer and 22 posts of Assistant Branch Officer, total 28 posts have been created.
At the same time, approval has been given for creation of one post of Real Estate Officer for monitoring land, building and other resources of the Road Construction Department and two posts of driver for the Governor's Secretariat.
Mega bridge along with small and big bridges will be maintained regularly
During the tenure of Nitish government in the state, the Road Construction Department has constructed 3968 big and small bridges. The number of mega bridges, major bridges and flyovers among these is 532. For the management of these bridges and their regular maintenance, the government has prepared the Bihar State Bridge Management and Maintenance Policy 2025. This policy was approved in the state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday.
VAT rate cut on aviation fuel
In order to promote air operations in the State and enhance local connectivity, the Cabinet has approved a proposal to reduce VAT rates on sale of Aviation Turbine Fuel from 29 per cent to 4 per cent, while keeping the VAT rates on aviation turbine fuel unchanged at one per cent in other cases.
The government has taken this decision after studying the rates applicable in neighboring states like Jharkhand, Delhi, Gujarat and Maharashtra. This decision of the government will increase the flight operations in Patna and other cities of the state and will promote regional connectivity. A decrease in airfares has also been predicted.
Under the Amrit Yojana, water supply and sewerage works will be done in six cities
The cabinet has approved the proposal to get water supply and sewerage works done in six cities under Amrit Yojana-2. Under the scheme, Rs 76.44 crore has been approved for the water supply scheme in Sasaram. Rs 138.26 crore has been approved for water supply in Ara city, Rs 113.28 crore for water supply in Siwan, while work will be done on 128 km sewerage network in Siwan itself. Rs 367 crore has been approved for this.
Four pumping stations will be built with this amount and after this 29,555 houses of 25 wards will be connected to this network. 196 km sewerage network will be built in Aurangabad. For which 497 crore rupees have been sanctioned. Eight pumping stations will be built with this amount and 24 thousand houses of 30 wards will be connected to this network.
Similarly, a 205 km long sewerage network will be built in Sasaram at a cost of Rs 455 crore. Through this, 33,525 houses in 22 wards of the district will be connected to this network.
