The central government has directed secretaries of various ministries to report on the implementation status of 16 major central schemes across opposition-ruled states—specifically West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Karnataka. These schemes cover key areas such as agriculture, women and youth welfare, education, culture, and poverty alleviation.

The ministries have been asked to detail:

• Which schemes have been adopted by these states,

• The level of implementation and public outreach,

• The role of state governments in executing these programs.

Following this, the Centre plans to launch a massive awareness campaign in these states to publicize the benefits of central schemes, particularly in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, where assembly elections are due next year.

The campaign will highlight central initiatives like Ayushman Bharat, Mudra Loan, Startup India, PM Vishwakarma Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, and various educational and infrastructure programs. It also aims to underline how some state governments have either delayed, rebranded, or refused to implement key schemes.

The Centre intends to emphasize the contrast in implementation between NDA-ruled states and opposition-led ones, suggesting that political differences are hindering public welfare in some regions.
