On the second day of his official visit to Dubai, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav held a significant meeting with officials from the Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) on July 14. The discussions centered around fostering business cooperation between the state of Madhya Pradesh and the Jain business community in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. The meeting served as a platform to identify investment opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and align JITO’s missions—economic empowerment, education, and service—with Madhya Pradesh’s industrial strengths.
One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the proposal to establish an MP-JITO Investment Forum, aimed at creating a structured, annual business dialogue between Madhya Pradesh and Dubai. The forum would showcase major projects from MP, including sectors like logistics, electric vehicles, food processing, industrial parks, and semiconductors, making it a hub for bilateral trade discussions and MoUs.
During the session, CM Yadav also held a high-level bilateral discussion with JITO Chairman Mukesh Vora, where the two leaders explored detailed plans for industrial collaboration and infrastructure development in Madhya Pradesh. The meeting emphasized leveraging MP’s new logistics policy, which offers incentives not only to exporters but also to infrastructure developers. Opportunities were discussed for skill development collaboration between Dubai-based institutes and Madhya Pradesh’s Global Skill Park, especially to enhance training in logistics and agri-processing.
The proposal also suggested joint ventures with Indian-origin corporates based in Dubai. For instance, greenfield textile mills could be developed with companies like Jain Cord and Bhilwara Energy Group. Food park development in Basai, Ujjain, and Mandsaur was also pitched, alongside pilot projects in renewable energy with Dubai’s cleantech companies under MP's green energy policy.
The idea of forging a strategic partnership between the MP government and JITO was also put on the table. It included hosting high-profile dignitaries such as Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan (UAE Minister) and Sunjay Sudhir (Indian Ambassador) in sessions focused on UAE and Africa-centric business strategies. Entities like DP World could also be involved to further deepen trade ties.
This growing collaboration with JITO Dubai is seen as a crucial gateway for Madhya Pradesh to attract global investments and connect with the vast Jain diaspora. The partnership opens up targeted investment pathways in logistics, agriculture, MSMEs, tourism, and infrastructure. Through JITO, the state can position itself in the UAE as a globally connected, investment-friendly destination with robust governance and ease of doing business.
