PNB Digital Credit Card Launch: Punjab National Bank (PNB) has partnered with fintech company Kiwi to make digital payments easier for its approximately 180 million customers. Kiwi is known as a credit-on-UPI platform. This initiative aims to provide customers with credit facilities through UPI, making payment methods more convenient for them.
Under this initiative, the bank will launch the PNB Kiwi credit card on the RuPay network. This will allow customers to make payments using UPI even if they don't have a bank balance. Let's learn more about this.
Easy to use, plus cashback
This card will be completely digital and easily integrated with UPI, making payments much easier. Additionally, online transactions will also offer a 0.5 to 1.5 percent cashback. This means users will benefit from both convenience and cashback.
Digital card without fees
This card will be issued completely digitally. This means customers can apply for it online from the comfort of their homes. There will also be no paperwork involved, making the application process easier and faster.
The most important thing is that this card has no joining fee or annual fee, making it even more convenient for the common man.
Preparations to increase access to rural areas
Punjab National Bank Executive Director Bibhu Prasad Mahapatra said that digital payments are growing rapidly in the country, with UPI playing a key role in this. He explained that the bank has a strong network of over 10,000 branches across the country, approximately 60 percent of which are in semi-urban and rural areas. Through this network, the bank is trying to expand formal credit access to those who have previously been excluded from it.
