The Suvendu government has announced a major decision regarding dearness allowance. It has increased DA by 2%, taking it from 58% to 60%. This new rate will be effective from January 1, 2026, and employees will also receive arrears from January to July 2026.
The Finance Department has published this decision. The government had been considering this rate revision for a long time. Finally, it has increased the DA rate from 58% to 60%.
The government has directed that this increased DA be paid along with the August salary. Arrears for all seven months should also be paid together.
So, all in all, government employees are set to receive a hefty paycheck in September, with a significant amount arriving in their bank accounts just before the festive season.
The state government has also announced that employees will get their salaries in advance in October.
The difference between central and state DA has long been a topic of debate. After this new 2% increase, state government DA now accounts for 60%.
