A shocking robbery incident in Bihar’s Darbhanga district has created panic among local residents. A group of armed criminals allegedly entered a doctor’s house late Thursday evening and carried out a robbery after holding a woman hostage and assaulting her.

According to reports, the incident took place in Darhar village under the Bahadurpur police station area. Around five armed criminals reportedly entered the house through the roof and targeted the family when only the doctor’s younger daughter-in-law, Karishma Devi (22), and her young daughter were present.

Woman Attacked During Robbery

During the robbery, the criminals allegedly threatened and assaulted Karishma Devi. They reportedly tied her hands and legs, cut her hair, and used an injectable substance that left her unconscious.

The attackers searched multiple rooms of the house and broke open cupboards before escaping with valuable items.

Jewellery and Cash Worth Lakhs Stolen

The criminals reportedly stole gold and silver jewellery worth around ₹5 lakh along with ₹35,000 in cash. The stolen jewellery reportedly included items such as a mangalsutra, earrings, rings, anklets, and other valuables.

To prevent neighbours from hearing the victim’s cries, the criminals allegedly increased the volume of the television during the robbery.

Police Begin Investigation

After receiving information about the incident, Bahadurpur police reached the spot and started an investigation. Officials collected evidence from the crime scene and are examining nearby CCTV footage to identify the suspects.

Police teams have started searching for the accused and are conducting raids to trace their whereabouts.

The incident has created an atmosphere of fear in Darhar village. Local residents have expressed concerns about security following the robbery.

The victim’s family said the criminals appeared to have planned the crime carefully and escaped within a short time. Police officials have assured that the accused will be identified and arrested soon.
