There's important news for Employee Provident Fund (EPFO) members. The EPFO has launched a new service to provide PF balance, recent transactions, and passbook information directly on WhatsApp. However, within hours of the service's launch, many members have complained that it's not working properly. Therefore, instead of benefiting from the new feature, members are facing technical issues. Let's learn how to use this service and what to do if they don't get a response on WhatsApp.
What is EPFO's WhatsApp service?
So, EPFO's WhatsApp service allows members to check their PF account balance and the last five transactions from the comfort of their homes. Therefore, they don't need to visit the EPFO office repeatedly. Previously, this process was lengthy and time-consuming. But that has changed.
What to do if the service is not working?
Some employees are complaining that they are not receiving a response on WhatsApp. In such cases, they can try again later to get their information. They can also check their PF account information through the UMANG app or the EPFO's official portal.
How to check PF balance on WhatsApp?
The process for checking your PF balance on WhatsApp is very simple. First, save the number +91 8796441800 on your mobile. Open WhatsApp and send the message "Hi" to this number. Select your preferred language from the menu that appears on the screen. Then, select PF balance, transactions, or passbook.
Your information is then sent to you. However, employees have complained that this feature hasn't been working since the first day. This comes after major changes to PF rules. Employees want to check their PM deposit balance. Now, employees are faced with the challenge of visiting the EPFO office to inquire, as before.
