Gautam Gambhir Returns to India Midway from England Tour Due to Mother’s Heart Attack

Indian cricket team’s head coach Gautam Gambhir has left the England tour midway and returned to India following a health emergency in his family. Reports confirm that Gambhir’s mother, Seema Gambhir, suffered a heart attack and is currently under close medical supervision in the ICU.

Due to his absence, the intra-squad matches scheduled between June 13 and 16, which were crucial for finalizing India’s playing XI for the upcoming Test series, will be managed by the rest of the support staff.

The first Test between India and England is set to begin on June 20 at Headingley. Sources indicate that Gautam Gambhir is expected to rejoin the team by June 17, providing much-needed support to the young Indian squad led by a young captain.

The cricketing fraternity and fans are hopeful for a speedy recovery for Seema Gambhir and a swift return of Gambhir to the team.
