According to the report of the Government of India, 239.30 million tonnes of milk was produced in 2023-24, America wants to take advantage of this market.

What is the whole matter? Negotiations are going on between America and India on a trade deal worth $ 500 billion. In which America wants to export American dairy products to India, in which it wants to sell non-veg milk. But the Indian government has flatly refused it. According to media reports, the Government of India says that this cannot be possible due to our cultural concerns.

The Indian government said that there is no scope for negotiation on this issue and there will be no compromise on the safety of small farmers, milk producers and drinking citizens. But still the greedy America is being adamant.

Is non veg milk made from flesh and blood?

After reading or hearing its name, a common citizen will think that non-veg milk is made from meat. But non-veg is not directly used for making it. It is fed to milk-giving cows and cattle. But India has clearly banned the milk of such cattle.

Meat is fed to cattle

According to a BBC News report, in America, cattle are given meat and blood meal to increase their weight. They are fed non-vegetarian feed so that their milk-giving capacity can be increased and maximum milk production can be done.

Pig, horse, dog meat

The report quoted the Seattle Times as saying that the feed given to the cattle contains meat of pig, fish, chicken, cat, dog and horse. Animal fat is also given to make them fat. Also, to provide protein, feed made from the blood of pig and horse is given.

What is a blood meal?

Blood meal is a special kind of fodder. To make it, the blood of animals is collected after killing them. Then it is dried and fodder is made, which is called blood meal. It is given to cattle to make them healthy.

Many countries sell non-vegetarian milk

Not only America, many countries produce non-vegetarian milk. It is consumed in Europe, Mexico, Brazil, Russia etc. But in India, cows and cattle are fed dry straw, green fodder, bran, corn etc.
