A shocking shooting incident has been reported from Patna, where Anil Kumar Yadav, a former councillor and husband of Ward No. 24 councillor Gyanvati Devi, was allegedly attacked by armed assailants on Wednesday.

According to the information provided by police, the incident took place in the Buddha Colony police station area. The attackers allegedly fired several rounds at Anil Yadav, with five bullets reportedly hitting him. He was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.

Initial reports had claimed that Anil Yadav had died, but doctors later confirmed that he was alive and undergoing treatment.

Anil Yadav is associated with the Jan Suraj Party. Following news of the shooting, Jan Suraj leader Prashant Kishor and Bihar Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav visited the hospital and enquired about his condition.

Several rounds fired, eight empty shells recovered

According to the preliminary investigation, the attackers targeted Anil Yadav and fired multiple rounds before fleeing the spot.

The shooting reportedly created panic in the area. After receiving information about the incident, police reached the location and began examining the crime scene.

Police recovered eight empty shell casings from the spot. Investigators are also examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area in an effort to identify the attackers and reconstruct the sequence of events.

Central SP provides details

Patna Central Superintendent of Police Mamta Kalyani said that former councillor Anil Yadav had sustained five bullet injuries in the shooting.

She confirmed that his condition was critical and that he was receiving treatment at a hospital.

According to the police officer, eight shell casings were recovered from the crime scene. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack, including the possible motive and the number of people involved.

Prashant Kishor and Tejashwi Yadav visit hospital

The shooting has drawn attention because of Anil Yadav’s association with the Jan Suraj Party.

Prashant Kishor and Bihar Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav subsequently reached the hospital and met Anil Yadav while enquiring about his condition.

Anil Yadav is a former councillor from Ward No. 24 and is associated with Jan Suraj.

Police searching for the attackers

Police teams are currently working to identify and locate the people responsible for the shooting. CCTV footage and other evidence collected from the area are being examined as part of the investigation.

The motive behind the attack has not yet been established. Police are also investigating whether the shooting was targeted and determining exactly how many people were involved.

The investigation is ongoing, while Anil Yadav continues to receive medical treatment.
