Defamation case filed against Shahrukh

Hurt by this incident, Manoj Kumar filed a defamation case of Rs 100 crore against Shahrukh Khan and the filmmakers. However, before the matter reached the court, Shahrukh Khan met him personally and apologized. Shahrukh promised that he would remove this scene from the film. On this, Manoj Kumar also forgave him and the controversy ended.

Manoj Kumar got angry when the film was released in Japan

However, the matter did not end here. When 'Om Shanti Om' was released inJapan, the scene was shown without editing. Manoj Kumar was deeply hurt to know this and reacted strongly. He said, "I am a family man. My grandchildren are growing up and tomorrow when it comes to their marriage, people will say that their grandfather had such an image. It is a question of my and my family's honour." Manoj Kumar also said that when the film was released, Yash Chopra himself had promised him that the scene would be removed, but it did not happen. He called it 'character assassination' and said that Shah Rukh and the filmmakers have "stabbed him in the back."

Shahrukh apologized again

When the matter came into the limelight once again, Shah Rukh Khan apologised to Manoj Kumar again. After this, the matter was completely resolved and no legal action was required. However, this incident proved that making fun of someone's image in cinema can hurt anyone a lot, especially when it comes to an iconic actor who has made an invaluable contribution to cinema.
