HMD is preparing to expand its smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the new Vibe 2 Pro. The company has confirmed that the smartphone will arrive in the country on September 29, while several key specifications and colour options have already been revealed.

The Vibe 2 Pro will bring a large 120Hz display, a 64-megapixel rear camera and a massive 6,000mAh battery to the segment.

HMD Vibe 2 Pro launch date in India

The HMD Vibe 2 Pro will officially launch in India on September 29.

The smartphone will be sold through Flipkart, with a dedicated product listing already live ahead of the launch.

It will be available in three colour options:

• Aqua Green

• Cosmic Purple

• Silver Mist

Large 6.78-inch display with 120Hz refresh rate

The upcoming HMD smartphone will feature a 6.78-inch Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The higher refresh rate should make scrolling, animations and supported games appear smoother compared with conventional 60Hz displays.

The large screen also makes the phone suitable for watching videos, browsing social media and gaming.

Dimensity chipset and up to 8GB RAM

The Vibe 2 Pro will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity chipset. HMD has highlighted the Dimensity 6400, while some specifications mention the Dimensity 6300, so the exact chipset should be confirmed at the official launch.

The phone is expected to offer up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

Massive 6,000mAh battery

Battery life is one of the major highlights of the Vibe 2 Pro.

The smartphone will pack a 6,000mAh battery and support 33W wired fast charging. The large battery should appeal to users who prioritise long endurance, particularly those who spend considerable time streaming, gaming or using mobile data.

64MP Sony camera

For photography, the Vibe 2 Pro will feature a dual-camera setup at the rear.

The primary camera is expected to use a 64-megapixel Sony IMX682 sensor, accompanied by a 2-megapixel macro camera.

For selfies and video calls, the phone will feature a 13-megapixel front-facing camera.

Android 16 and Indus AI

The smartphone will run Android 16 out of the box.

HMD is also bringing its Indus AI features to the device. According to the company, the AI system supports 22 Indian languages, potentially making the smartphone more useful for users who prefer interacting with technology in regional languages.

How does it compare with the Vibe 2 5G?

The Vibe 2 Pro will become the second smartphone in HMD's Vibe 2 lineup in India.

The company launched the Vibe 2 5G earlier this year with a starting price of ₹10,999. That model features a 6.7-inch 120Hz display, a 50-megapixel main camera and a 6,000mAh battery with 18W charging.

The Pro model brings upgrades in several key areas, particularly its camera, charging capability and overall specifications.

Price will be revealed at launch

HMD has not yet revealed the official Indian price of the Vibe 2 Pro.

With the launch scheduled for September 29, the company is expected to announce the complete pricing and variant details during the event.
