You can download Instagram Reels directly from the app or using a free web tool. If the creator allows downloads, simply open the Reel, tap the Share (paper airplane) icon, and select Download. Otherwise, copy the Reel link and paste it into a site like DownReels to save it.
Using the official Instagram app
Open the Instagram app and go to the Reel you want to save.
Tap the Share (paper airplane or three dots) icon in the bottom right corner.
Swipe right on the bottom row of options and tap Download.
The video will be saved directly to your phone's camera roll (Photos or Gallery app).
Note: Creators can disable the download option for their Reels. If the download button isn't visible, you can use the web method below.
Using third-party web tools
If you're on a computer, or if the official download option is disabled, you can use a browser-based downloader. Open the reel, tap the share icon or the three dots, and select Copy Link.
Open your mobile or desktop web browser and go to a free downloader site like DownReels or RobinReach.
Paste the copied link into the input field and click Download.
Select the final download or save option to store the video on your device.
