During checking of vehicles on Atal Path in Patna, three policemen were crushed by youths riding a Scorpio, in which a woman constable died, while two other policemen were seriously injured. During interrogation, the arrested accused have told the reason behind running over them with the car.

During vehicle checking in Bihar's capital Patna, three policemen were trampled by youths riding a Scorpio. One of them was a woman constable. Two inspectors were also seriously injured, who were immediately admitted to the hospital for treatment. After the incident, the police arrested both the accused in the car. During police interrogation, the accused told why they ran over the policemen instead of slowing down the car after seeing them.

Police was checking vehicles on Atal Path in Patna on Wednesday. During this, police signaled a Scorpio car to stop. Instead of stopping the car, the youths in the car ran over three policemen. Three policemen of SK Puri police station deployed on duty were badly injured after coming under the car. These included SI Deepak Mani, ASI Awadhesh Kumar and female constable Komal.

Three accused arrested

All three were immediately taken to the nearest hospital, where doctors declared Constable Komal dead after examination. As soon as the incident was reported, Patna SSP Avkash Kumar immediately reached the spot and arrested both the accused who hit the car. The arrested accused have been identified as property dealer Nikhil, Ankit and Kuldeep. At the same time, one accused Raja is still absconding. Nikhil and Ankit were arrested immediately after the incident.

Know why the car ran over the policemen

Kuldeep was arrested the next day. Property dealer Nikhil was driving the Scorpio car. This car also belongs to him. The rest of the people were present in the car. During police interrogation, property dealer Nikhil and Ankit told that for the past few days they used to go for a walk on JP Ganga Path in Scorpio. During this time, they got annoyed with the frequent checking. Being annoyed with this, they ran the car over the policemen.
