Remove Frost From Freezer: Freezer becomes our biggest need in summers, sometimes to keep cold water, sometimes to keep ice cubes. However, now women have started keeping frozen foods in the freezer as well. If ice starts forming in the freezer amidst these needs, then the problem increases a bit more. It is white and light in appearance, but its effect is seen on everything from your electricity consumption to the cooling of the fridge.
Gradually this layer becomes thick and then the freezer door does not close properly. If this is happening to you too, then you do not need to worry because we will tell you some hacks with the help of which the freezer sheet can be easily moistened. You just have to adopt these hacks in the right way
Why does an ice sheet form?
- When we open the freezer again and again, the heat from outside enters inside. This heat gets cooled after going inside and slowly a sheet of ice starts forming.
- If the freezer temperature is set too low, it freezes moisture too quickly, leading to ice formation.
- Some older models of freezers do not have auto-defrost. In such a case, if the freezer is not defrosted, the problem increases a lot.
A bowl of hot water will work
When a thick sheet of ice forms inside the freezer, removing it can seem like a hassle. In such a situation, you have to do a small task, for which you will just need hot water.
How does this method work?
- First of all switch off the refrigerator and disconnect the power connection.
- Now fill hot water in a bowl or place it on the gas to heat it.
- When the water becomes hot, place the bowl at the bottom of the freezer. This will create steam inside and the ice will start to loosen.
- Now slowly remove the ice with a plastic scraper or dry cloth. You can repeat this.
Use a spatula or plastic scraper
After some time, ice starts to form in the freezer. Women try to remove it with their hands, but doing so can cause injury to the hand. For this, you can use a spatula or a plastic scraper.
How to use?
- Turn off the freezer first and let the ice soften for a while. When the ice is loose, take a scraper.
- Rub it slowly on the ice sheet and move the scraper gently. Doing this will surely benefit you.
- This will cause the snow to fall in flakes. Wipe the fallen snow with a cloth or sponge. That's it, your work is done, this hack will be useful for cleaning.
Hair Dryer Hack
If you are in a hurry to remove the ice, a hair dryer can prove to be helpful. It melts the ice very quickly and you do not have to put in much effort. To remove the ice, first turn on the hair dryer. Then point it towards the freezer, place a plate or tray underneath and let the ice melt.
Wipe the fallen snow with a cloth or sponge and use these hacks two or three times a week.
