"I’ll Marry Only Him": Bride Insists on Wedding After Groom Calls It Off, Leaves Police Baffled

A dramatic turn of events unfolded in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, when a young bride approached the police after her fiancé abruptly called off their engagement. But what shocked the police most wasn’t the complaint — it was the bride’s plea not to take action against the man who broke her heart.

Engaged After a Love Affair

The case emerged from the Sahjanwan police station area. The girl, a local resident, had been in a relationship with a young man from Khalilabad. A year ago, the couple convinced their families to approve their relationship and got engaged. However, their wedding date had not yet been finalized.

Recently, the groom-to-be informed the bride that he no longer wished to marry her, ending all communication. The bride, left stunned by this sudden decision, turned to the police for help.

Police Left Puzzled by Bride’s Demand

Upon receiving the complaint, the police detained the groom and summoned both parties to the station. But to everyone’s surprise, the bride said, “Sir, please don’t take action against him. I still want to marry him.”

The groom, however, remained firm in his refusal, saying he no longer wished to go through with the marriage. With conflicting positions from both parties, the police were left in a dilemma.

Falling Apart After Engagement

Sources revealed that the couple had a falling out over personal issues, leading the boy to cut off all communication. His family also distanced themselves from the girl’s family. Despite repeated efforts from the bride’s side to resolve the matter, no agreement could be reached.

In the end, the police registered a challan against the boy for disturbing public peace. Whether the marriage will eventually happen remains uncertain, but the unusual case has become a talking point across the district.
