IND vs PAK, T20 World Cup 2026: Tilak Varma Says Team India Fully Prepared for High-Pressure Clash

Team India is gearing up for one of the most anticipated matches of the T20 World Cup 2026 as they prepare to face arch-rivals Pakistan on February 15 at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Ahead of the blockbuster encounter, Indian batter Tilak Varma has shared insights into the team’s mindset and preparation.

Speaking at a press conference at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi before India’s match against Namibia, Tilak addressed questions about the uncertainty surrounding the India-Pakistan fixture and how the team handled the situation. He revealed that although confirmation of the match came only a couple of days ago, the Indian team has been mentally and tactically prepared.

“We are completely ready to play Pakistan,” Tilak Varma said. “Even though we got clarity about the match just two days back, our preparation has been ongoing. We are constantly working on our game.”

The left-handed batter emphasized that Team India is not focusing on just one opponent. “We are keeping a close watch on the performances of all teams, including Pakistan. We are analyzing how everyone is playing and preparing accordingly,” he added.

While India will first take on Namibia, Tilak Varma is expected to play a crucial role against Pakistan, given his strong record against them. In three T20 internationals versus Pakistan, Tilak has scored 130 runs, including an unbeaten 69, and has also picked up three wickets.
