The fourth Test match between India and England is underway at Old Trafford, Manchester, and the team line-ups have thrown in some surprises. After winning the toss, England opted to bowl first, putting India in to bat. While England made one forced change, India made three significant changes to their playing XI.
Anshul Kamboj Makes Test Debut
Young fast bowler Anshul Kamboj has been handed his maiden Test cap, marking a major moment in his cricketing journey. He comes into the side as part of a pace-heavy attack for the Manchester Test.
3 Major Changes for India
Indian captain Shubman Gill confirmed the three changes in the team during the toss:
-
Karun Nair has been dropped, and Sai Sudarshan comes in as a replacement in the middle order.
-
Shardul Thakur replaces Nitish Reddy, who has been ruled out due to injury.
-
Anshul Kamboj comes in, making his debut and strengthening India’s pace options.
England Make One Change
England made just one change to their squad:
-
Liam Dawson replaces Shoaib Bashir, who is out due to injury. Dawson, often called “England’s Ravindra Jadeja” for his all-round skills, returns to the side after a long break.
