Instagram Update: 90-minute videos can now be uploaded to Instagram, which competes with Facebook and YouTube, a big advantage for creators

Social media has become a part of our lives. Instagram plays a major role these days. We turn to Instagram for everything, big and small. It has become a medium to showcase our talent. Instagram allows you to upload 30-second reels, stories, and photos. But now, Instagram has rolled out a new update that has dealt a major blow to Facebook and YouTube. The company is currently working on longer videos and testing a new feature called "Features." This feature will allow only a select few to upload videos up to 90 minutes long. Instagram Update:

What's the matter?
Previously, you could only upload videos of 1-2 minutes on Instagram. Therefore, people used Facebook or YouTube to watch longer videos. Instagram wants to attract similar audiences, so now you can upload videos up to 90 minutes long. Adam Mosseri, Instagram's founder, told this story.

Update in podcast:
In Colin and Sameer's podcast, he said, "I used to be very against long videos." I only wanted short videos. But times are changing. People prefer podcasts, interviews, chats, and longer vlogs. They turn to YouTube for that. Instead, if Instagram has longer videos, people will use the app more.

This is a huge boost for creators.
Currently, this feature is available to select creators. They can upload 90-minute horizontal videos. These videos will appear in your regular feed and Explore page. Similarly, when you scroll through Instagram, videos will appear, allowing you to see longer videos. Another important thing is that creators can upload a short clip of their longer video as a Reel. If they prefer shorter Reels, they can watch their full video on Instagram without having to switch to another app.

Instagram is now launching a new app for TV. The TV app will focus more on 'Features'. This will allow TV viewers to watch longer videos. The app has launched on Samsung TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Google TV. It will also be available on Apple TV in a few days.

What else is new?
Insta is now introducing two new features: series. Creators can tell a story in parts, like a series, Part 1, Part 2. This will make it easier for people to watch parts one after the other.

The second is 'second-screen'. This allows you to use your mobile as a remote. You can stop watching a video on your mobile and continue watching it on your TV. You can save the video and watch it later on TV. This will be very convenient. The biggest advantage is background playback. This means that even if you close Insta, the video's sound will continue. This is really great for podcast listeners. However, this feature isn't available yet; Mosseri said it will be coming soon.

So, will creators get paid?
This is the most important question. YouTube pays for longer videos. But Instagram has no such plans right now. Instagram doesn't currently have any plans to pay for short or long videos. But the company says this may change in the future. Simply put, Instagram is no longer just a time-pass app. It's ready to compete with YouTube.
