Is the QR code real or fake? Make sure before making a payment, learn the easy solution

These days, digital payments are happening everywhere, from Delhi to the streets. From one-rupee chocolates to larger items, whether it's traveling on a state-of-the-art bus or paying at a petrol pump, digital payments are happening everywhere. QR codes are scanned for this purpose. But sometimes, fraud can also occur.

While scanning a QR code to make payments is very easy, it's also dangerous. Many people use fake QR codes to defraud people. This leaves the common man wondering how to identify a fake QR code.

A fake QR code is pasted over the original QR code to commit fraud. This results in the money going into the pockets of the fraudster instead of the shopkeeper. Therefore, check the QR code before making a payment. If you suspect something is wrong, alert the shopkeeper.

When making an online payment, check the name displayed on the screen and make sure it matches the shopkeeper's. If you see a different name, ask the shopkeeper to ensure the money doesn't go to the wrong account and you and the shopkeeper don't get cheated.

Don't panic while making a payment. Don't press the Pay button immediately after scanning the QR code. Only make the payment after verifying and confirming all the details. This process will take a maximum of two to three minutes. However, the money won't go to the wrong account.

If the QR code appears skewed or unclear, check with the shopkeeper. Often, the QR code is unclear or not properly placed. In such cases, make the payment only after you are completely sure. Ask the shopkeeper for information on this matter.
