Jolly LLB 3 Gets Relief: Allahabad High Court Rejects Plea to Ban Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi’s Film

Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi have finally received a major relief in connection with their upcoming courtroom drama, Jolly LLB 3. On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, the Allahabad High Court dismissed a petition that sought to stop the release of the film and demanded action against its song “Bhai Vakeel Hai” for allegedly defaming the legal profession and the judiciary.

This ruling has come as a big relief for the filmmakers, who have been facing a series of legal hurdles since the movie was announced.

Court Finds No Objectionable Content in Jolly LLB 3

The case was heard by a division bench of Justices Sangeeta Chandra and Brij Raj Singh, who reviewed the song lyrics as well as the film’s trailer and teaser.

In its observation, the court noted:

“We did not find any objectionable matter that would require judicial intervention. We have also read the lyrics of the song ‘Bhai Vakeel Hai’, and there is nothing in it that hampers the legal profession of bona fide lawyers.”

With this, the court dismissed the petition without imposing any cost, providing a clear path for the film’s release.

Earlier Legal Challenges Against the Film

This is not the first time Jolly LLB 3 has faced legal troubles. On August 20, 2025, a Pune court had issued notices to Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi following a complaint by advocate Wajid Khan Bidkar, who alleged that the film mocks the judicial system and courtroom proceedings.

Bidkar further claimed that certain dialogues and scenes present the legal profession in a derogatory way. He particularly objected to a sequence where judges are referred to as “mamu”, arguing that it undermines the dignity of the judiciary. The Pune court has directed the actors to appear on September 28.

Even before this, in May 2024, the Ajmer District Bar Association president Chandrabhan had also filed a complaint, asserting that the Jolly LLB franchise portrays the Indian judicial system in a negative light.

What This Means for Jolly LLB 3

With the Allahabad High Court’s verdict, the makers can breathe a sigh of relief. The ruling reinforces that creative expression in cinema should not be curtailed without substantial grounds. However, the film still faces pending cases, which means legal scrutiny may continue until its release.

Jolly LLB 3, starring Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi in lead roles, is one of the most anticipated Bollywood releases, known for its satirical take on courtroom battles and the justice system. Fans are eagerly waiting to see the chemistry between the two actors, who bring humor and drama to the legal world on screen.
