The investigation into the murder of Vineet Minocha, a prominent pharmaceutical businessman from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, has taken a dramatic turn. Police have arrested his biological son, Subrata Minocha, after the victim’s former servant allegedly claimed that he was hired to kill the businessman at Subrata’s instructions.

According to the police investigation, the servant, identified as Vishal, made several serious allegations during questioning. He reportedly told investigators that Subrata had promised him ₹6 lakh to murder his father and had also instructed him to shift the blame onto his wife, Shalu, if he was caught.

Police are now examining these claims through call records, financial transactions and forensic evidence.

Servant claims son offered ₹6 lakh for the murder

During interrogation, Vishal allegedly told police that Subrata had approached him with a plan to kill his father and offered him ₹6 lakh for carrying out the murder.

Vishal also claimed that Subrata had instructed him to implicate Shalu, his wife, if the police caught him. Investigators are examining whether this allegation is supported by other evidence.

The servant reportedly had a previous connection with the family. According to the investigation, Vineet had fired Vishal after an alleged theft of medicines from the family’s shop came to light. The businessman had reportedly reprimanded his son Subrata in connection with the incident.

Six phone calls on the day of the murder

Vishal allegedly told police that Subrata called him six times on the day of the incident and repeatedly asked him to complete the plan quickly.

According to the servant’s statement, the intention was to make the death appear natural. However, the situation reportedly changed when Vineet woke up during the incident and recognized Vishal.

Vishal allegedly panicked after Vineet began shouting and attacked him with a knife.

Police are now investigating whether the sequence of events described by Vishal matches the physical and forensic evidence collected from the crime scene.

Shalu breaks down during police questioning

The police also reportedly questioned Subrata, his wife Shalu and Vishal face-to-face at the police station.

During the confrontation, Shalu allegedly broke down after seeing her husband and told police that she had been falsely implicated in the case.

Investigators are examining the statements of all three individuals to establish their respective roles and determine whether the allegations made by Vishal are supported by independent evidence.

Debt and property angle under investigation

Another important aspect of the investigation is reportedly Subrata’s financial position.

According to the police investigation, Subrata had debts of around ₹15 lakh. Investigators are examining whether financial difficulties and questions surrounding the family’s property could have provided a motive for the alleged conspiracy.

Police are also checking financial transactions and other records to determine whether there was any payment connected to the alleged murder plot.

Subrata denies all allegations

Subrata has denied the allegations made by Vishal. He reportedly told police that the servant was attempting to frame him and that he had never instructed him to commit either theft or murder.

Police officials have said that the allegations are being independently verified and that Vishal’s statements alone will not determine the outcome of the investigation.

Investigators are examining call detail records, financial transactions and forensic evidence to reconstruct what happened and establish the roles of those involved.

The investigation remains ongoing, and the allegations against Subrata have yet to be established in court.
