Karbonn has made a comeback in the Indian smartphone market with the launch of two new smartphones, the Karbonn Rebel and Karbonn Rebel Pro. Both devices have been introduced under the company's new Rebel series and focus on large batteries, high-refresh-rate displays and affordable pricing.
The smartphones come with MediaTek processors, HD+ displays and Android 16. With a starting launch price of ₹11,999, the new devices will compete in India's budget smartphone segment.
Both smartphones will be available for purchase through Amazon starting November 4 at 12 noon.
1. Karbonn Rebel and Rebel Pro: Price and Availability
Karbonn has announced an official price of ₹14,999 for both smartphones. However, buyers can take advantage of introductory launch offers.
The Karbonn Rebel will be available at ₹11,999, while the Rebel Pro will cost ₹12,499 under the launch offer.
Customers can also receive an additional bank discount of ₹1,000, bringing the effective prices down to ₹10,999 and ₹11,499, respectively.
The Karbonn Rebel will be available in Blue, Gold and Silver colour options. The Rebel Pro will come in Blue, Cherry Red, Gold and Grey.
2. Display and Processor Details
The Karbonn Rebel features a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 650 nits.
The Rebel Pro comes with a slightly smaller 6.7-inch HD+ LCD display but offers a higher 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 720 nits.
Both smartphones are powered by the MediaTek Helio G81 octa-core processor. They come with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Users can also expand the storage up to 1TB using a microSD card.
3. Camera Specifications: Up to 64MP Rear Camera
Camera capabilities are another area where the two smartphones differ.
The standard Karbonn Rebel features a 50MP rear camera for photography. The more premium Rebel Pro gets a 64MP rear camera along with a 16MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
The higher-resolution camera on the Pro model could make it a more attractive option for users who frequently capture photos and videos using their smartphones.
4. Battery Capacity and Fast Charging
Battery performance is one of the biggest highlights of the new Karbonn Rebel series.
The standard Karbonn Rebel packs a massive 7,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. The large battery capacity is designed to provide extended usage between charges.
The Rebel Pro comes with a 6,000mAh battery and supports 20W fast charging.
Interestingly, the standard Rebel offers a larger battery than the more expensive Pro model, making it an interesting choice for users who prioritise battery life.
5. Android 16 and Other Features
Both smartphones run on Android 16 out of the box. Karbonn has promised two years of operating system upgrades and two years of security updates.
Other features include an IP64 rating for protection against dust and water splashes, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock.
The devices also support 4G connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C and a traditional 3.5mm headphone jack.
Karbonn Rebel vs Rebel Pro: Which One Should You Consider?
Both smartphones offer similar processors, RAM, storage and software support. However, their differences make them suitable for slightly different users.
The Karbonn Rebel could appeal to buyers looking for a large battery and an affordable smartphone, while the Rebel Pro offers a smoother 120Hz display and a higher-resolution rear camera.
With introductory prices starting below ₹12,000, Karbonn is looking to attract budget-conscious smartphone buyers with its new Rebel series.
