IPL 2026: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) star fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani has been handed a major penalty during the IPL 2026. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has banned him for two years, causing a stir in the cricketing world.
PCB gets irritated when IPL is chosen over PSL

According to reports, Muzarabani had decided to break his contract with Islamabad United for the PSL 2026 and join KKR in the IPL. The PCB has taken strict action, considering this decision a violation of the rules. The board stated that the player was initially granted permission, but this action was taken after he later broke the contract. This decision serves as a significant warning to players who switch sides mid-league.

Unsold in the auction, got a chance later
Interestingly, he went unsold in both the PSL and IPL auctions, but was later signed by Islamabad United as a replacement player. However, as soon as Kolkata Knight Riders terminated their contract with Mustafizur Rahman, they called Muzarabani. Muzarabani, however, abandoned his PSL deal and joined KKR.
Will other players also be punished?
According to reports, Australia's Spencer Johnson and Sri Lanka's Dasun Shanaka also left their PSL contracts to join the IPL. While no official action has been taken against them yet, they are also likely to face bans in the near future.
