Lok Sabha passes new employment bill to replace MNREGA; opposition MPs tear up pages of bill

The Bharat Guarantee for Employment and Livelihoods Mission (Rural) Bill (VBG) was passed in the Lok Sabha during the winter session of Parliament. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan responded to the bill amid heavy uproar and sloganeering from the opposition.

The winter session of Parliament is underway. On Thursday, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan responded in the Lok Sabha on the Bharat Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural) Bill, also known as VBG Ram G. During this, the opposition also engaged in a lot of uproar and sloganeering. Opposition MPs tore up the bill, threw it in Parliament, and stormed into the well. Despite the uproar, the VBG Ram G Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha.

The Bharat Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural) Bill, also known as VBG Ram G, has been passed by voice vote in the Lok Sabha. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Lok Sabha Speaker, said, "Congress never listened to Gandhiji. We respect him."

Gandhiji had said that once independence was achieved, Congress should be dissolved. He said that the day Kashmir was granted special status, the Constitution was murdered. Modi's government has addressed many shortcomings in MNREGA.

Congress misused the funds – Shivraj

The Union Minister said, "We do not discriminate against anyone. Bapu is our inspiration and reverence. The entire country is one for us. It is not just a piece of land. Our views are not narrow and limited." Shivraj Singh said, "Congress has Ram on its face and a knife in its side. Congress had completely surrendered MNREGA to corruption."

Amid uproar from opposition parties in Parliament today, Shivraj Singh Chouhan responded in detail to the Vikasit Bharat Ji-Ram Ji Bill. He said that the Congress party doesn't want to hear the government's response. He stated that MNREGA funds have been misused. On the other hand, his government has spent money on development projects. He said that this bill will benefit farmers and the poor. Despite this, the Congress party continues to oppose it.

Schemes named after the family

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, responding to Priyanka Gandhi, said that to glorify her own family, she named government schemes after the Nehru family instead of Mahatma Gandhi. Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the schemes were named after the Nehru family.
