This recipe is very much liked not only in North India but all over the country. Especially when it comes to brunch or Sunday special food, Chole Bhature is everyone's first choice. In such a situation, if you also want to make small restaurant-like bhature at your home, then this article is for you. Today we are going to tell you its easiest recipe. Let's know in detail.
These things will be needed for chole
- White chickpeas – 1 cup, soaked overnight
- Onion – 2 finely chopped
- Tomatoes – 2 finely chopped
- Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tablespoon
- Green chilli – 2 chopped
- Chana masala – 2 tablespoons
- Turmeric – half a teaspoon
- Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Garam masala – half teaspoon
- Salt – as per taste
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Green coriander - for garnish
You will need these things for Bhatura
- Refined flour – 2 cups
- Semolina – a quarter cup
- Curd – half a cup
- Baking powder – half a teaspoon
- Salt – as per taste
- Oil - for frying
How to make Chole
- Put the soaked chickpeas in a pressure cooker with some salt and water and boil till 4-5 whistles.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add onion and fry till golden brown.
- Now add ginger-garlic paste and fry for 2 minutes.
- Then add tomatoes and green chillies and cook until oil separates from the spices.
- Now add turmeric, red chili powder, chana masala and salt to it. Add some water and cook the spices.
- Add boiled chickpeas and mix well. Add some more water if needed.
- Cook on low flame for 10-15 minutes. Finally add garam masala and green coriander.
Method for making Bhatura
- Add flour, semolina, salt, baking powder and curd in a large vessel and knead soft dough.
- Cover the dough and leave it in a warm place for 2-3 hours so that it swells a little.
- Make small balls from the dough and roll them with a rolling pin to give them a round shape.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the bhaturas till they turn golden and fluffy.
