A mother and daughter died due to electric shock from a cooler installed in the house. This tragic incident took place in Gulla Thanda of Jukkal Mandal in Kamareddy district of Telangana. Police have registered a case in connection with the incident and are investigating.

The deceased have been identified as Prahlad's wife Shankabai (36) and younger daughter Srivani (12), residents of Gulla Thanda.

According to the information given by Jukkala police, apart from Srivani, Prahlad has a daughter and a son. His eldest daughter is studying in Hyderabad. Prahlad had gone to Hyderabad for work on Friday (May 8) night. His wife Shankabai (36), younger daughter Srivani (12) and son (16) were sleeping at home. It was very hot, so Shankabai got up and turned on the cooler for the children. Then she went to sleep.

My daughter touched the cooler and got an electric shock

After some time, the younger daughter Shrivani's feet touched the cooler. This gave Shrivani a sudden electric shock. Out of fear, Shrivani held her mother lying nearby tightly, due to which both of them died of electric shock while sleeping. The electric shock was so intense that Shrivani's toes got burnt. The son, who was sleeping at a little distance, woke up in the morning and found his mother and sister dead.

Police registered a case

After this, the son immediately informed the neighbors. When the neighbors reached the house, they saw that both of them had died. After the information given by the neighbors, the police reached the spot. Then the case was registered and investigation started. The bodies of both were taken to Madanur Government Hospital for postmortem.

Neighbours said that the cooler was made of iron. Moreover, the cooler was manufactured locally without following quality standards. The mother and daughter got electrocuted and died. They expressed grief over the death of the mother and daughter.
