In a bizarre yet serious case from Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, a man has approached the Superintendent of Police (SP) seeking protection from his wife, who he claims has turned against him after receiving an education. The woman allegedly refused to return to her in-laws’ home, declaring that she is “more beautiful” than her husband and would not live with someone she finds unattractive.

Husband Files Unique Complaint

The case has emerged from Bhagwantpura village, under Orchha Road police station limits. Vinod Ahirwar, the complainant, has accused his wife Gomti Ahirwar of abandoning him, insulting his appearance, and threatening him with death if he tries to bring her back.

“She Says I’m Not Handsome Enough”

According to Vinod, the two got married in June 2023. At the time of their marriage, Gomti had only completed Class 12. Despite his limited income, Vinod claims he supported her further education, sacrificing his savings to give her a better future.

But after completing her studies, Gomti allegedly changed her behavior. Vinod says she began distancing herself from him and refused to return from her maternal home, claiming she deserved someone better-looking and more suitable than him.

Allegations of Death Threats

The situation took a more serious turn when, according to Vinod, Gomti started threatening to kill him if he insisted on taking her back to their marital home. Vinod expressed deep emotional distress and has pleaded with the SP for justice, saying he has been mentally harassed and lives in fear due to her threats.

Police Involvement

Vinod has submitted a written application to the SP office, requesting legal protection and help in resolving the matter. The police are expected to look into the allegations and determine the appropriate legal steps.
