MPL 2025: Tripathi Duo Powers Bhopal Leopards to Final, Rewa Jaguars’ Journey Ends

In the first semi-final of the Madhya Pradesh League 2025, Bhopal Leopards clinched a thrilling three-wicket victory over Rewa Jaguars, ending the top-ranked Rewa team’s campaign. Batting first, Rewa posted a competitive total of 176 for 7 wickets. Bhopal successfully chased the target with seven balls to spare, thanks to crucial contributions from Madhav Tripathi and Kamal Tiwari.

Rewa’s innings saw an early setback with captain Himanshu Mantri dismissed at 32. Prithviraj Tomar and Chanchal Rathore then stitched a vital 81-run partnership for the second wicket. Tomar played a quickfire 52 off 35 balls, while Chanchal scored 37 runs from 29 deliveries. However, Rewa’s scoring rate slowed in the final overs, which proved costly.

Chasing 177, Bhopal stumbled early, losing both openers with the score at just 9. Despite hopes resting on Aniket Verma, he managed only 12 runs off 13 balls. The Leopards slipped further to 69 for 5 and 89 for 6, appearing on the brink of collapse with Rewa poised for victory.

But young Madhav Tripathi had other plans. After a cautious start, he launched a powerful assault in the last five overs, supported brilliantly by Kamal Tiwari. Needing 61 runs from 28 balls, Kamal’s explosive unbeaten 40 off 13 balls — including five towering sixes — swung the momentum. Madhav remained unbeaten on 65 from 31 balls, featuring four boundaries and five sixes, steering Bhopal to a memorable win.

With this win, Bhopal Leopards advance to the MPL 2025 final, while Rewa Jaguars’ impressive campaign comes to an end.
