As Bihar gears up for its upcoming assembly elections, TV9 Bharatvarsh hosted its Satta Sammelan Bihar in Patna, featuring several big names from politics and entertainment. Among them was Bhojpuri cinema’s popular actor and singer, Pawan Singh. While the Powerstar spoke candidly on various topics, one question in particular prompted an unexpected response—an apology and a polite refusal to comment.
During the session, Pawan Singh was asked about BJP MP Arun Govil’s private bill that calls for a ban on pornography on the internet and OTT platforms. The question was whether he supports such a move and believes that obscene content should be banned. On hearing this, Pawan Singh immediately responded, “Sir, I am sorry.”
He then explained his stance further, saying, “I am an artist… I am a singer and an actor. We hardly get time to watch TV or follow the news. Our daily routine is all about work—leaving home, getting in the car, going to the shoot, working all day. By the time we are done, it’s already late night or early morning. I try not to comment on others or on such matters, so please don’t ask me to speak on it.”
With that, Singh respectfully opted out of expressing his views on the subject of OTT censorship or content regulation.
At the same event, Pawan Singh also made headlines by revealing his plans for a Bollywood debut. Known for his blockbuster success in Bhojpuri cinema, he shared that he will soon be stepping into Hindi films. Though he didn’t disclose specific details, the announcement created a buzz among fans who are eager to see him transition to the national screen.
For now, Pawan Singh continues to maintain focus on his entertainment career while navigating the political conversations that are becoming an increasing part of his public engagements.
