Pilu Vidyarthi Felt ‘No Head or Land’ in Sarzameen, Says Role Was Cut; Comments on Ibrahim Ali Khan

Actress Pilu Vidyarthi, who played Ibrahim Ali Khan’s nanny in the film Sarzameen released on JioHotstar, opened up about her disappointing experience with the movie. She revealed that despite giving her 100 percent during shooting in Manali and Mumbai, only about 20 percent of her role made it to the final cut. Pilu expressed feeling stuck "neither there is a head nor there is land"—highlighting how the director struggled to connect the story between the two shooting locations during editing, resulting in most of her work being omitted. This left her so disheartened that she chose not to promote the film.

Pilu also shared candid thoughts on Ibrahim Ali Khan’s acting. She praised his talent but noted he still needs to add depth to his performances, explaining that acting grows from life experience. She acknowledged the pressures star kids face, especially with successful parents, and said Ibrahim’s polite and caring demeanor reflects the nurturing environment he has had.

Sarzameen, directed by Kayoj Irani and produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, and Apoorva Mehta, stars Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran as a couple with Ibrahim Ali Khan playing their son who takes a wrong path. The film is available to watch on JioHotstar.
