POCO has expanded its smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the POCO M8x 5G, a new mid-range handset focused heavily on battery life. The smartphone packs a massive 7,900mAh battery, along with a 120Hz display, Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processor and a 50-megapixel primary camera.

The large battery is clearly one of the biggest attractions, particularly for users who spend long hours streaming videos, browsing social media, attending online classes or using navigation.

POCO M8x 5G Price in India

The POCO M8x 5G starts at ₹20,999 for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage model. The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage version has been priced at ₹22,999.

Buyers can also get a ₹2,000 bank discount, subject to the applicable offer conditions. The smartphone is scheduled to go on sale in India on August 27 at 12 PM through Flipkart. It comes in Black, Blue and Leather Green colour options.

Massive 7,900mAh Battery With Fast Charging

Battery capacity is the headline feature of the new handset. POCO has equipped the M8x 5G with a 7,900mAh battery supporting 45W wired fast charging.

The phone also supports 22.5W wired reverse charging, allowing its large battery to provide power to compatible devices when required.

POCO claims the handset can deliver around 35 hours of social-media scrolling, up to 13 hours of GPS navigation or as much as 64 hours of music playback under its test conditions. Actual battery life will naturally depend on usage, network conditions and settings.

Large 120Hz Screen and New Snapdragon Processor

The smartphone features a 6.9-inch HD+ LCD display with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It also gets Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection and features designed to improve touch response when fingers are wet or damp.

Under the hood is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset based on a 4nm manufacturing process. The device comes with up to 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage.

50MP Camera and Android 16

For photography, the POCO M8x 5G carries a dual-camera arrangement at the rear. It is led by a 50MP primary camera, accompanied by a 2MP macro sensor.

An 8MP front camera handles selfies and video calls.

The handset ships with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. POCO is also promising four operating-system upgrades and six years of security updates, giving buyers a longer software-support window.
