Now, as Preity prepares for her upcoming film ‘Vibe’, she has opened up about the failure of ‘Partition 1947’ and explained why she doesn't let a film's box-office result define her work.

“I’m very proud of the film”

While promoting ‘Vibe’, Preity addressed the response to ‘Partition 1947’ in an interview with Mid-Day.

The actress said she remains proud of the film and described her experience of working on it as a positive one. She also explained that, as an actor, she tries to manage expectations surrounding her projects.

For Preity, the result of a film isn't something she can completely control once the movie has been released.

“Do your part and leave the rest to God”

Speaking about her approach to her career, Preity said that she always gives her best when she takes up a project.

She explained that she believes in karma and focuses on doing her part rather than worrying about factors beyond her control.

According to the actress, she puts in her “1000%” while working on a film and then leaves the final outcome to God.

Her comments reflect her belief that an actor's responsibility is to give their best performance, while the eventual box-office response depends on many factors.

‘Partition 1947’ reportedly struggled to recover its production costs.

According to Sacnilk, the film earned around ₹54.20 crore worldwide, while reports put its budget at approximately ₹150 crore.

The gap between the reported budget and worldwide collection meant that the film failed to achieve the expected box-office success.

The movie featured a prominent cast, including Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, Abhimanyu Singh and Ali Fazal.

Preity is now looking ahead

Rather than dwelling on the film's commercial performance, Preity Zinta is now focused on her next project.

She will be seen alongside Kunal Kemmu in ‘Vibe’, which has become the actress's latest project following her return to the big screen.
