Punjab: After Jalandhar, blast outside army camp in Amritsar, Khalistan Liberation Army claims responsibility

Punjab Double Blast News: Blasts in Jalandhar and Amritsar on the same night caused panic in Punjab. Security agencies are on high alert after explosions outside the BSF headquarters and an army camp, and an investigation is underway.

Two explosions at different locations in Punjab overnight have alerted security agencies. The first was outside the Border Security Force (BSF) headquarters in Jalandhar, and just hours later, a blast was reported near an army camp in the Khasa area of Amritsar.

Khalistan Liberation Army claimed responsibility

The Khalistan Liberation Army has claimed responsibility for the blast outside the BSF Punjab headquarters in Jalandhar. However, the letter claims that two BSF soldiers were killed and three injured in the blast, which is not true.

According to the KLA letter, this IED blast was carried out to avenge the death of Ranjit Singh, who was killed by the Punjab Police in an encounter in Gurdaspur in February. Ranjit Singh was involved in the murder of a police ASI and a Punjab Home Guard in Aadhiyan village, also in Gurdaspur.

The first incident occurred in Jalandhar at around 8:15 pm. A scooter parked outside the BSF Punjab headquarters exploded. The blast caused panic in the area. However, it is a matter of relief that no casualties have been confirmed so far.

A few hours later, there was an explosion in Amritsar.

Just hours after the Jalandhar incident, at around 10:30 pm, an explosion occurred near an army camp in the Khasa area of Amritsar. According to locals, the sound of the blast was heard up to a kilometer and a half away. Furthermore, the intensity of the blast was so great that it shook the campus walls.

Security agencies reached the spot

The Army and Punjab Police immediately swung into action following both incidents. Forensic teams have also been called to the scene and are collecting evidence. The surrounding area has been cordoned off and investigations are underway.

According to officials, no major damage or casualties have been confirmed in either incident. However, a thorough investigation is underway to determine the nature and cause of the blasts.

Jalandhar Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur said, "Our patrol team was present here at around 8 o'clock. A scooter was parked near the gate. Suddenly, it caught fire. We are gathering information from the BSF. According to initial information, the scooter belongs to a person working here and it caught fire when he came here. We want to investigate every aspect of this incident."

Agencies engaged in investigation

Security agencies are trying to determine whether there is a link between the two blasts or whether they are separate incidents. Vigilance has been heightened in the area, and suspicious activities are being monitored. Following these incidents, security has been further tightened across Punjab to prevent any potential threats in a timely manner.
