Veteran filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, who is soon making his OTT debut with the web series Pritam & Pedro starring Arshad Warsi, has finally addressed ongoing speculation about a reunion with Ranbir Kapoor.

For some time, reports in the film industry suggested that Hirani and Ranbir Kapoor were once again teaming up for a biopic based on an athlete. Some claims even went further, stating that the project had been delayed to 2027 due to scheduling conflicts and script-related issues.

However, Hirani has now clearly dismissed these rumours. In a recent interaction, he said that there is no such film currently in development with Ranbir Kapoor. At the same time, he added that he would be happy to collaborate with the actor again in the future, but nothing is planned right now.

The filmmaker also expressed surprise over how such reports circulate, saying he often comes across “announced” projects in the media that he himself has not even worked on.

Ranbir Kapoor and Rajkumar Hirani have previously worked together only once in the 2018 blockbuster Sanju, a biographical drama based on actor Sanjay Dutt’s life. The film was a massive commercial success and remains one of the most notable collaborations between the two.
