Ronit Roy Declines ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ Season 2: “Some Things Should Remain Untouched”

Ronit Roy, a celebrated name in Indian television and cinema, has surprised fans by confirming that he will not be part of the much-anticipated second season of the iconic TV show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The original series, which holds a special place in his heart, made him a household name, and there was widespread speculation about his comeback in the reboot. However, Ronit has now put an end to those rumors.

In an interview with ETimes TV, Ronit expressed his happiness about the revival of the show, saying it remains very close to him. He reminisced about his eight-year journey with the show and congratulated the makers for bringing it back. Yet, he made it clear that despite the nostalgia and his affection for the series, he would not be reprising his role. “I am happy that they decided to bring back Kyunki… but unfortunately, it did not work out for me,” he said.

When asked if he would consider doing long-running TV shows again, Ronit was candid. He said he is not against such shows but feels television needs to evolve and improve. “It has been 25 years since I started and the world has changed. Some improvements need to be made in television. So, once that happens, I will be back. Until then, I am happy where I am,” he added.

Currently, Ronit Roy is seen playing Raja Someshwar in Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan. Fans of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi are eagerly awaiting the new season, which will bring back Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay as Tulsi and Mihir, promising a nostalgic yet fresh experience for the audience.
