Salman Khan Tried to Block Vivek Oberoi’s Career After Press Conference, Claims Producer Shailendra Singh

The long-standing controversy between Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi has been one of Bollywood’s most talked-about feuds. Though the two actors were not always at odds, their relationship soured dramatically during the early 2000s amid a highly publicised love triangle involving Aishwarya Rai. The situation escalated to the point where Vivek Oberoi held a press conference accusing Salman Khan of threatening him.

Years later, producer Shailendra Singh has revisited the incident and shared his perspective on what transpired behind the scenes. Speaking to Siddharth Kannan in a recent interview, Singh opened up about Salman Khan’s reaction to Vivek’s controversial press conference and its alleged impact on Vivek’s Bollywood career.

‘Salman Was Extremely Angry’

According to Shailendra Singh, Salman Khan was deeply upset when he saw Vivek Oberoi’s press conference. The producer recalled Salman reacting strongly, questioning the need for such public allegations. Singh said that Salman, who earlier used to express his emotions openly, has since learned to exercise greater restraint.

“I told Salman that in life, one should act, not react,” Singh said. “I advised him not to make impulsive decisions and to handle the situation quietly.”

Did Salman Influence Vivek’s Career?

When asked whether Salman Khan tried to stop Vivek Oberoi from getting work in the industry, Shailendra Singh suggested that it appeared so. “I think Salman did exactly what he said — he waited and fought silently. He tried his best to ensure that Vivek did not continue working in Bollywood. I can’t say this with certainty, but that’s how it looked,” the producer claimed.

The Aishwarya Rai Angle

Following her breakup with Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai reportedly began dating Vivek Oberoi. During this period, Vivek publicly accused Salman of attempting to intimidate him over the relationship. However, Aishwarya and Vivek parted ways in 2005.

Aishwarya Rai later married Abhishek Bachchan, while Vivek Oberoi moved on and married Priyanka Alva. The couple now has two children.

A Controversy That Still Echoes

Despite the passage of time, the Salman-Vivek feud continues to resurface through industry recollections and interviews. Shailendra Singh’s remarks have once again reignited discussions about power dynamics in Bollywood and how public confrontations can shape careers — sometimes irreversibly.
