State Bank of India (SBI) has started the online application process for a special recruitment drive for Junior Associates (Customer Support and Sales), commonly known as SBI Clerk posts. The purpose of this recruitment drive is to recruit candidates from Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) categories to fill backlog vacancies.
According to the notification, a total of 1,538 vacancies are to be filled through this recruitment drive.
Eligible candidates belonging to the above mentioned castes can submit their applications through the bank's official portal, sbi.bank.in. The last date for submission of applications is August 27, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be graduates between the ages of 20 and 28. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized university. Applicants pursuing an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) program must verify and confirm that their passing date meets the recruitment requirements. Students in the final year of their graduation program can also apply on a provisional basis, but if selected, they will need to complete the required degree before joining SBI. As part of the eligibility requirements for the Junior Associate post, candidates must also have basic computer literacy.
SBI has not set a fixed limit on the number of attempts for the Clerk exam. Therefore, eligible candidates can appear for the recruitment exam multiple times, provided they continue to meet the applicable eligibility criteria, including the age and educational requirements.
The SBI Clerk recruitment process consists of several stages, each requiring candidates to qualify to be eligible for final selection. Applicants must first appear for a preliminary exam, followed by a main exam for candidates who qualify in the preliminary stage. Candidates must then pass a prescribed Language Proficiency Test (LPT). Only those candidates who successfully meet the requirements in the respective stages of the selection process will be considered for final recruitment.
Application Fee:
Candidates applying for OBC vacancies will have to pay an application fee of ₹ 750. However, SC and ST category applicants will not have to pay any fee as they are exempted from paying the registration fee.
