Actor Shreyas Talpade has shared a heartfelt story from his early struggling days in Mumbai, revealing how even getting a home loan for his first house was a challenge—until a simple gesture from Shah Rukh Khan changed everything.

The actor recalled that despite his growing work in films, the bank initially refused his home loan application due to documentation and eligibility issues. At one point, a bank officer even asked him details about his upcoming projects, including the cast and crew of his then-upcoming film.

The turning point: ‘Om Shanti Om’ connection

During the discussion, Shreyas mentioned he was working on Om Shanti Om, directed by Farah Khan and starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. This prompted the officer to suggest he provide formal proof or an official confirmation from the production.

A letter that changed everything

Shreyas shared that after returning home, he reached out to Farah Khan, who quickly took the matter forward. Within a couple of days, Shah Rukh Khan signed an official confirmation letter for him.

Once the document was submitted, the bank approved his home loan the very same evening, finally making his dream of owning a house in Mumbai come true.

A breakthrough film moment

Om Shanti Om turned out to be a major milestone in Shreyas Talpade’s career. In the film, he played a memorable supporting role alongside Shah Rukh Khan, and it also marked the Bollywood debut of Deepika Padukone. The movie went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters of 2007.
