Famous Indian footballers Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Sunil Chhetri, and Sandesh Jhingan have shared a special video message regarding the ongoing crisis in Indian football. In this video message, all three have appealed to FIFA to intervene in this matter. In a video message and social media post released on January 2, these players, along with several other ISL (Indian Super League) stars, openly expressed their displeasure over the failure of the All India Football Association (AIFF), saying that Indian football is now going to be paralyzed forever. These players want the world's largest football body to step forward to save the future of Indian football.

Indian football stars made a video

Indian team goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu said, "We are all scared, we are desperate. It's January, we should be on your screens playing competitive football in the ISL. But instead, we are forced by fear and despair to say something everyone knows." Sandesh Jhingan said, "We are filled with fear and despair. Indian football is now heading towards paralysis." Sunil Chhetri said, "Players, staff, owners, and fans need clarity, security, and most importantly, a future." The video also included several other prominent players, including Lallianzuala Chhangte, Amrinder Singh, Rahul Bheke, Pritam Kotal, Suresh Wangjam, and foreign player Hugo Boumous. He added, "This is a last ditch effort. We appeal to FIFA to do whatever is necessary to save Indian football. Let us play."

What is the crisis of Indian football?

The Indian Super League season has not yet begun. This puts the players' futures and careers at risk. They are not receiving any salaries. The AIFF has been completely unsuccessful in finding new commercial partners. No bids have been received, putting the league's future in jeopardy.
