Phones running Android 5.0 and 5.1 will no longer be able to send or receive WhatsApp messages. The company has stated that this change will not affect iPhone users.
The company's new rules will mostly affect older phones. WhatsApp has stated that phones running Android 5.0 or older, or iPhones running iOS 15.1 or older, will stop working. This is due to older devices not being able to support security updates and new features.
