The ‘Heaven on Earth’ Where Men Are Banned: Inside SuperShe Island, Ruled Entirely by Women

In today’s fast-paced and stressful world, people are constantly searching for peace and solitude. But imagine a place where men are not allowed to enter at all. Such a place does exist—and it is known as SuperShe Island. Located off the coast of Finland, this unique island has gone viral online and is often described as a “women’s paradise.”

Spread across 8.4 acres in the Baltic Sea, SuperShe Island is a private retreat designed exclusively for women. Surrounded by dense forests and scenic rocky shores, the island features traditional Finnish saunas and luxurious wooden villas. The concept behind the island was to give women a space where they could relax freely, without male attention or social pressure. To preserve privacy and tranquility, only eight women were allowed on the island at any given time.

Life on SuperShe Island focused on wellness and self-care. Visitors spent their days practicing yoga and meditation, eating healthy food, and enjoying peaceful walks along the beach. The idea was to help women disconnect from daily stress and reconnect with themselves in a calm, judgment-free environment.

According to the official website, the island was purchased in 2018 by former American tech CEO Christine Roth. She envisioned a place where women could laugh openly, live without makeup, and explore their potential without feeling self-conscious. Roth believed that constant male attention often affects how women behave and present themselves, and she wanted to create a space free from that influence.

In 2023, SuperShe Island was sold to a male shipping executive, Deyan Mihov, for nearly one million euros (over ₹10 crore). Despite the change in ownership, the core idea of the island has remained unchanged. SuperShe continues to operate as a women-only retreat, staying true to its original philosophy.

Men are allowed on the island only when absolutely necessary, such as for plumbing or essential maintenance work. Even then, efforts are made to hire female professionals whenever possible to ensure that the women-only environment is preserved.
