In a heartbreaking incident from Siwan district in Bihar, a 35-year-old woman named Chanda Devi died by suicide following a minor domestic argument with her husband. The incident took place in Rampur Chhota Digar village under the Bhagwanpur Haat police station area on Sunday night.

A Small Dispute Turned Fatal

According to reports, the argument began when Chanda Devi’s husband, who had just returned from Chandigarh that morning where he works in a private company, asked for mangoes during dinner. Chanda brought the mangoes to him, but when he asked her to wash them before eating, she became upset.

Allegedly, she expressed her frustration, saying, “You people keep troubling me like this. If this continues, I will die.” In response, the husband reportedly told her, “Then go and die.”

Shortly after this exchange, Chanda left the room and tragically ended her life by hanging herself with a rope.

Son Witnessed the Fallout

The couple's 10-year-old son revealed to the police that his mother had committed suicide after the argument. He said he had gone to attend a local fair, and it was his younger sibling who informed him of the incident upon returning home.

Police Investigation Underway

Following the tragedy, family members reportedly fled the house. The police arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and sent it for post-mortem at Sadar Hospital.

Officials stated that a clear conclusion about the cause of death will be drawn only after the post-mortem report is received. For now, they are treating it as a case of suicide likely triggered by a domestic dispute.

This shocking case highlights how even minor disagreements in strained relationships can escalate into irreversible tragedies, emphasizing the importance of communication and mental health awareness in families.
