U19 Asia Cup: Why is Pakistan furious at Indian cricketers?

The PCB will file a complaint with the ICC over alleged misconduct by Indian players during the Under-19 Asia Cup final. Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed these following allegations by Coach Sarfraz Ahmed. He called for keeping sports separate from politics.

Dubai: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman and Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi will file a complaint with the ICC demanding action against Indian players who misbehaved with Pakistani players during the Under-19 Asia Cup final. Pak team coach and former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed had alleged that the behavior of Indian players was not proper during the match. After this, while talking to the media, Naqvi said that a complaint will be filed with the ICC against the bad behavior of Indian players. Naqvi said that an official complaint will be filed with the ICC against the Indian players and politics and sports should be seen separately.

Sarfaraz Khan's video clip goes viral

During the Under-19 Asia Cup final, an audio clip of Sarfraz Ahmed surfaced, in which he was instructing Pakistani players on how to behave with Indian players. In the audio clip, Sarfraz was telling the Pakistani players not to ignore those who ignore them and not to behave in a manner that exceeds the dignity of the game. Although its authenticity was not confirmed, Sarfraz admitted in a press conference that the audio circulating on social media was his. He said, "I have played against the Indian team before. But back then, they respected the game. But now, watching the game from the outside, I feel that this team is not respecting the game. The behavior of the Indian players on the field was often unethical. You may have seen many emotional displays of Indian players on the field on TV. But we celebrated the victory in a manner that is in keeping with the dignity of the game."

Meanwhile, there were reports that after the humiliating defeat against Pakistan in the final, BCCI will seek explanation from the coach and captain for the defeat. The meeting is also likely to discuss the bad behavior of some Indian players in the final against Pakistan. Pakistan defeated India by 191 runs in the title match held in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. Batting first, Pakistan scored 347 runs for eight wickets in 50 overs with the help of a century from opener Sameer Minhas, while India was all out for 156 runs in 26.2 overs.

The Indian team achieved a resounding victory against Pakistan in the league stage of the Under-19 Asia Cup. The young Indian team, led by Ayush Mhatre, reached the final unbeaten in the league stage but failed miserably in both batting and bowling. After conceding a high total with the ball, the Indian team lost wickets repeatedly with the bat, eventually collapsing for just 156 runs.
