A remarkable case from Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh has captured public attention, blending science and personal transformation in an extraordinary way. Born as Sarita, Sharad Singh underwent a gender transition and is now celebrating the biggest joy of his life—the birth of his son.
From Sarita to Sharad Singh
Sharad Singh, originally born as Sarita, always had boyish traits—dressing, mannerisms, and speech. In 2022, he decided to fully embrace his identity as a man and opted for hormone therapy in Lucknow. Over time, he developed masculine features like facial hair and a deep voice. In 2023, a successful gender affirmation surgery in Indore gave him a new identity.
On June 27, 2023, he received an official gender change certificate from the district magistrate and legally adopted the name Sharad Roshan Singh. Later that year, on November 23, 2023, he married Savita, a woman from Pilibhit, starting a new chapter in his life.
Welcoming a Son – A Dream Come True
On Wednesday, Savita was admitted to Jain Hospital in Shahjahanpur due to labor pains. By 5 PM, she gave birth to a healthy baby boy, bringing immense joy to the couple. Sharad, now an assistant teacher in a government school, expressed his happiness, calling it the biggest joy of his life.
The Science Behind This Transformation
According to Dr. Sudeep Saran, a senior physician from Bareilly, gender transition surgery is possible for individuals with both male and female traits. The procedure involves removing female reproductive organs and enhancing male characteristics through hormone therapy, enabling the person to biologically father children.
This incredible story of Sharad Singh is a testament to modern science, resilience, and the power of identity, marking a milestone in gender transformation and acceptance in society.
