Vaibhav Suryavanshi Smashes Century Faster Than His Coach Predicted

Before the Rising Stars Asia Cup began, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s coach, Manish Ojha, confidently predicted that his student would score a century in the tournament. Not only that, he even said Vaibhav would cross 100 runs and reach the milestone within 12–13 overs. But no one expected that Vaibhav would outperform even his guru’s bold prediction.
Vaibhav has been training under Manish Ojha since the age of eight, and the coach has always rated him highly. Speaking to TV9 Hindi before the tournament, Manish said that Vaibhav wouldn’t just score a hundred — he would score far more, and he would do it quickly.
Vaibhav proved his coach right in style in his very first match of the Rising Stars Asia Cup. Making his debut in an India jersey at any level, he blasted 144 runs off just 42 balls against the UAE. His innings included 15 sixes and 11 fours, and he completed his century in just 32 balls. In simple terms, he hit a century in his very first T20 innings for India.
While he validated his coach’s prediction of scoring well beyond 100, Vaibhav completely shattered the timeline expected by his mentor. Instead of reaching the century mark in the 12th or 13th over as predicted, Vaibhav got there even faster — in the 10th over itself.
